The Bone Rebuilding Cycle is a continuous cycle of bone breakdown and bone formation. The balance between osteoclast activity, which dissolves bone mineral, and osteoblast activity, which produce new bone mineral, governs whether bone is made, maintained or lost.
A prolonged resting period follows until a new rebuilding cycle begins.
